    I was looking at a thread page when... poof... the page reloaded automatically and a new post was on there.

    Has this always been the technology, or is it new?

    Maybe it is your computer, because it has never happened to me. The only way I know someone has posted when I am on a thread is if I hit refresh or if I am in the process of posting and it says, "87 new thread replies since your post. You may wish to revise your post."
