    Just to be helpful ... interviews began this week on this job, according to the SE. So if you weren't contacted (like me!) you're probably out of luck.

    Weeks ago? Then why was it advertised beginning in mid-April?
    Verbatim, I was told by the SE about a week ago: "Interviews are beginning this week. Thank you for your interest." Certainly a form, non-committal reply if ever there was one, but that seems straightforward to me.

    The gentleman accepted the position on April 18, to be exact.
