    Generally speaking, most people don't want 80 strangers knowing your email address.
     
  2. I got one of those mass emails for a communications director position a few years ago, and the person sending it was mortified at her mistake. She sent a follow-up apologizing for it, and I'm pretty sure a clerk made the original error. I also saw another staffer from my paper on the list. Not that we cared. Everybody was bailing anyway.

    I was glad I didn't make a big deal out of it though, because that person turned out to be a good resource.
