The Saline Courier, a seven-day daily outside of Little Rock, is looking for a Co-Sports Editor. The successful candidate will be a certified sports nut with lots of interest and knowledge in sports and a willingness to immerse themselves in Saline County's sports particularly. He/she must be a talented writer, a sharp proofreader, fast & accurate on deadline, work well with coaches, parents and the public, and either be skilled in page design or be a fast learner and willing to learn it. However, some skills — such as responsibility, ability to organize and manage schedules and meet deadlines, MUST already be learned upon arrival. This is an entry-level journalism management job with room for quick advancement and lots of room for fun; it also offers flexible hours, work in and out of the office and some travel on occasion. Bonus points for candidates with photography skills or an eagerness to acquire them. Please send resume with references and salary requirements, along with at least four samples of your work, to kristalk@bentoncourier.com. Position is available immediately.

Well Benton is far enough NW of Pine Bluff that you won't catch its smell.
