    ZMan, it's not that good talent doesn't wanna climb the ladder.

    It's the suits who are fucked up so bad.

    This industry isn't so bad. 15/20 percent profit is still exemplary. Go check out WalMart or General Motors or whatever.

    The suits aren't playing honest here. They're bleeding the troops just so their bonuses aren't cut.

    Newspapers used to be about honesty and integrity. Sadly, newspapers don't run their own houses like that anymore. That's such a shame. But I'll bet your publisher just bought the latest Mercedes for his four-car garage.

    the sad thing is a lot of these guys used to be guys like us way back in the day, at least those that weren't ad whores first. how quickly you forget where you came from.

    as I understand it, jobs are still frozen in NYT regional newspaper group. doesn't mean they are moving on it, but i wouldn't be holding my breath, especially with summer coming up.
