    Well Andy was the news editor, they will fill that spot. That and the Asst. news editor spots are pretty high priority there.

    What Lakeland is doing is off-the-wall nuts.

    Yeah, the writers are fine, and good people too. But you gotta have sports people on the sports desk, and the Ledger Brain Trust seems to think otherwise at this point.

    I think the writers would agree that they want, most of all, a solid sports desk to rely on, and they don't have that now. You can't just throw news people on the sports desk as a stopgap.

    Maybe the new guy is good. Who knows. What I saw was that The Ledger needs some seriously good sports design, and if you ain't using the one designer on your desk who knows how to design sports, then what the fuck are you doing with your sports section?

    What a waste of a good paper. And what a waste of a sports section that used to be ready to handle whatever came up on any given night.

    Gotta question the leadership at The Ledger these days.

    You're nothing without good leadership in this business. Now more than ever.
