Man, what will you do after tomorrow?

No more awards to be announced, hence, no opportunities to mock the electorate.

Sit tight though. The HOF voting is announced the first Tuesday of January. I'm sure you can muster up some hatred for whatever happens there.

Tom Gage explains why he voted for Magglio, instead of A-Rod.

Interesting take, but it probably would have been better if the Tigers had made the post season.

A-Rod did put the Yankees on his back the first two months of the season.

Another "Hey, look at me" assclown, who has abused his columnist hole to try getting a spot on Sports Reporters.

Agreed. The rest was just rationalization.

Maglio hit 99 points better with runners in scoring position, "the clutch statistic," so his team was able to rely on him more. Um, A-Rod -- as he pointed out had 17 more RBI. BA with RISP is somehow a more important stat than RBI? Really? Oh, that's right, it was "only" 17 more, as he pointed out. Seventeen runs can be damn important in the course of a season. Of course, RBI are a function of the team as well, but to just dismiss them seems silly.

He also points to the big disparity in batting averages, .363-.314, while completely discounting on-base percentage in which Maggs held a .434-.422 edge, much closer than the stat he chose to use which isn't as important.

Essentially, he based his vote on two categories that don't mean squat and then discounted bigger ones such as home runs and RBI as "glamour" categories, as if anyone who looks at them doesn't know the nuances of baseball.

Anyone who bases his MVP vote on only home runs and RBI is an idiot, just like anyone who only bases their vote on BA and BA with RISP is an idiot. As someone else mentioned, A-Rod carried the Yankees for at least two months and got them to the playoffs. Sorry, but the day someone chooses to base his MVP vote on the batting average of the hometown guy, he gets called a homer.

Love the shots at Keith Law in that column.

Yeah, I thought that was tremendous. Called Law to the carpet multiple times.

His column didn't really make sense, though, because he is trying to justify why Magglio should have gotten MVP, but then he ends with: "Magglio got the number of first place votes he deserved, and so did ARod."

Well, if that is the case, then Magglio didn't deserve the MVP and the column is a moot point.
