Are journalists useful?

OK, now that I have your attention, let's play a little game.

You agree to be stranded on a remote island for a year. The only stipulation is that you must take five others, and they all have to be different professions.

My five:
Doctor (general practitioner)
Structural engineer
Fireman
Mechanic
Musician


If you don't like the remote island idea, or you're a nerd, then make it a remote planet. In that case, I'd replace the structural engineer with a chemist and the fireman with a biologist.
