    Next stop, freelance-wanted board.

15 grand, and that was the negotiated penalty? Mercy.

Yeah, glad our dues are going to something worthwhile.

As far as the attendance goes, nobody wanted to take vacation time and/or pack up their families to go to Minneapolis because, you know, it's always been more about the destination and not the convention. Vegas has never posed a problem in that regard.

That's why I'm not sure Pittsburgh will be a big destination spot next year.

Ehh, it was a pretty good piece for a travel brochure. I didn't know half that shit about Pittsburgh.

Just don't understand why the state of the industry continues to be ignored by APSE.

Because the state of the industry doesn't concern most of them. They're like the guys on Wall Street who get a bonus even though their company went bankrupt.

Yeah, as much as we pile on Lynn (and sometimes it's deserved, especially in regard to APSE tunnel vision), he's had to make cuts, too. And he's not getting a golden parachute like the Wall Street CEOs. That was a little uncalled for.

If you really read it, you'd find that Hoppes didn't write much of it.

And it's good to see that the convention ended up in the black. That's the full story, which the start of this thread doesn't make clear.

Pittsburgh: We're not so bad, though our towels are terrible!
