The key is really to make sure Boots doesn't live nearby.

With No. 1 you're walking distance from WalMart, but would your shopping trips there be small enough where you could carry the bags home while walking with no trouble? If the answer is no, then you'd have to pilfer a cart to wheel everything home or drive there (just like you would with No. 2). So closeness of the store shouldn't be an issue.

OK, I was being vague to protect their IDs, but the one who took photos for me today on his visit to both places has cleared me to post. So if you recognize the view, so much for secrets.

Still voting #1. Other than the view of the outside--which looks terrific from #2, you still have to live inside. Looks beautiful.

Great workout room at #1...probably a good place to meet people.

I liked the pictures of the actual apartment in number one better. The kitchen appliances looked nice. I also liked the look of the workout room much better. Jeez, I wish I had that where I live. Wanna switch places with me?

If you were six hours from my family, yes. In a heartbeat.

But he's only about a half-hour from me. That should count for something.

No. 1 still, without a doubt.

    No. 2

See how much a laundry service would cost you a month.

Those views are too good to pass up, plus it is $125 a month cheaper.

Personally I like the cheaper, more scenic location. Cable included? What else do you need? Laundry in basement at $25 more a month means your saving is now $100, but it's still a substantial saving. Is there an elevator to the basement or just stairs? If there is an elevator you can't go wrong. You can drive to Wally World or food store. You can walk the area and enjoy the bistros and parks. I say No. 2.

Number 2. You'll save more money in the long run, even with the laundry costs and inconvenience of doing laundry on the bottom floor, which helps you significantly with your stated goal of paying down debt.

Both places look pretty nice. It's not like you're choosing between a rat-infested hole in the ground and a plush executive suite complete with retina scan entry.
