hey, he said he regrets those two days. leave him alone.

  2. I don't think he needs to apologize to anyone.
    Certainly not to me.

21st century crisis-management specialists say otherwise. Here, from an NYT story on the NFL/Patriots/video mess, are the post-modern stations of the cross:

The goal of managing any crisis....is to acknowledge the black eye and compress the time it lasts.

Wilson says the American public generally wants to hear what he calls the Big Three of crisis management: I am sorry. I take responsibility. And I will fix it.

    Is it really that easy?

It seemed to work for Jason Giambi. But his was - at least at first - an unspecified apology.

It'll be interesting to see who comes out of this in better shape, given their completely opposite strategies: Pettitte, or Clemens.

Nah . . . he'll just try to brazen it through, with the Big Denial.

    What a scuzz.

As always well done by Buster. Best part perhaps might have been this line:

(And as has been written here and elsewhere many times before, I believe I did a lousy job covering this issue in the '90s).

Unlike many he is willing to admit that he missed the story. Hard to beleive thought becasue Buster is so detail oriented in his work. I have to wonder if The Times handcuffed him on this story.

CJ seems to be quoted everywhere as character witness for Mcnamee. What he fails to mention is that they both played baseball at St Johns.
