Anyone watching Robin Williams on Today?

Hilarious. The thing he said about Marlee Maitlin being able to hear the loud planes was too much.

Yeah, that was what set me off too.
Even the anchors reaction was priceless.
You make Matt Lauer cover his face, you've gone too far.

Any Robin Williams performance since 1987, in five easy steps:

    1. The Fly (Helpp meee!)
    2. Glenda the Good Witch
    3. A televangelist
    4. A Deliverance reference of some sort
    5. A husky black woman voice

    Wash, rinse, repeat ...

Love him as a dramatic actor, but can't stand him in a comedy setting ...

He should retire every riff forever.

Almost without exception, when Robin Williams appears on my television, I scramble for the remote with the urgency of someone about to get killed in a Saw movie.

His coke-addled, warmed-over, Mork & Mindy bullshit makes me want to get violent. That doesn't even count the crappy-ass movies he's spewed forth from at least Mrs. Doubtfire onward.

I'm with you, Steak. And Bubbler. He hasn't made me laugh in years.

  6. I don't watch the show. What is a "size Barber's noggin"?

  7. Since when does the Today show go until NOON EST?

I'm not complaining. I'd watch Natalie Morales 24 hours a day. Just saying ... is there enough material for a five-hour show?

I agree Williams is irritating, but like Jim Carrey, I don't think there are other actors who ad lib with stream of thought off the cuff like those two do.

More than likely "August Rush" which opens next Wednesday.

The last hour of his appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio (I think this appearance was from '01) is one of the best hours that program has put together. James Lipton excels at getting the best out of his guests.

As someone who has been annoyed by Robin Williams for several years, I must say, he cracked me up on Today. Someone told me about it, and I watched it at work. It was very funny.

Robin Williams, like Jim Carray, is a very underrated dramatic actor. Like Jodie Foster, he has been playing well below his league, moviewise. His adlibbing peaked with his voice work in Alladin, but he is still fitfully hilarious.
