Anybody vacationed in N.O. post-Katrina?

Well, I'm back from N.O. and had a great time. Hit Acme Oyster House a couple times and got some really good stuff at the Red Fish Grill. This was my fourth time in New Orleans, but my first to go to Cafe Du Monde. The beignets are unbelievable and I regret having not gone there sooner.

As for the city, the touristy parts were about the same, but you could tell there were far fewer locals/street performers/panhandlers. There was a definite different feeling about it as opposed to the three trips I'd made pre-Katrina.

Anyway, it was a good time. I recommend the Astor Crowne Plaza at the corner of Bourbon and Canal. Perfect location for less money than the Sheraton (although the Sheraton's rooms are a tad nicer).
