Oh, and don't forget the dramatic moment, just before I-69 merges with I-96, where a sign pronounces "West I-69 becomes South I-69." Worth the wait, for sure.

I've made that drive exactly once. On my 21st birthday, after I'd already had a few. I assume they've cleaned up everything by now.

It's 55 miles tops, and I would say most of the freeway is less than 10 years old -- "bone-jarring" is a highly relative term, certainly compared to how they used to be in the 1970s and 1980s. Back then it was like driving across a plateau of broken bricks. (Of course, the cars I used to drive were bone-jarring in their own right.)

There are some extremely skanky porno joints in Durand and Perry. Or so I've heard; I don't drive that route much anymore. Perry is the midway point; there's a BK there if you don't think you can survive another 25 minutes without quality nourishment. :p

Probably a better idea to push right ahead to the cosmopolitan metropolis of Lansing to find the wonders awaiting there. :D :D

As boring as Flint to Lansing is, Flint to Port Huron is even worse. And Port Huron to London ain't much better.

That Battle Creek to Lansing drive is pretty boring as well, coming up the other way on I-69.

Which part of the hand is I-69 on?
