I'll have to wait for Dennis Leary and Lenny Clarke's take on the matter on NESN. Their analysis of Gibson's previous rant was pretty interesting. I can only imagine what they say now.

My favorite all-time guest appearance in a press box. I actually interviewed Leary and Peter Tolan a week after that. Introduced myself as being from Cincy, "the hometown of Jewish first baseman Kevin Youkilis." Leary laughed his ass off.

The only way Mel makes a comeback is if someone who has an excess of public affection, like a Tom Hanks, Ron Howard or Sandra Bullock, throws him a bone and agrees to do a movie with him.
