Portland authorities signaled on Friday that they will no longer continue to investigate charges made against former Vice President Al Gore stemming from allegations he groped a licensed massage therapist in 2006.

Local television station KOIN reports:

The complaining witness, Molly Hagerty, stated that she was sexually abused during a massage session at the Hotel Lucia when Gore was in Portland.

Hagerty failed a polygraph test during the course of the investigation, and there was no DNA evidence on the pants she claimed she wore during the alleged incident, according to investigators.

That only goes to show that Al Gore was smarter than Slick Willy at hiding his tracks. Or lest we forget the presidential love juice on the dress.....

 

They screwed up by not investigating the first time -- whether they were pressured into doing so or just because she wasn't credible enough to go forward. But looking at this, they didn't do the bare minimum which they are supposed to do -- this was their attempt to rectify that error. There was no way that they could bring charges against him given the time elapsed and the fact that there was no chain of custody with respect to any physical evidence. No surprise that this news was released on a Friday night.

 

Of course, there's also the possibility that since the lady flunked several lie-detector tests, that a stain she claimed was semen proved to be nothing of the sort, that the accuser made no mention of the "attack" in follow-up her corresopondence to the hotel two days after the supposed incident, that Portland newspapers found her claims to be groundless and refused to print her accusations, that her supposed "witnesses" wanted nothing to do with the case or did not support her claims, and that the police essentially determined nothing happened, she's nothing more than a gold-digging crackpot who even tried to shakedown the hotel in a "billing dispute."
