You're So Vain - Carly Simon
Sweet Home Alabama - Skynard to Mr. Young

The 60s and 70s should dominate this thread.
    Fortunate Son - CCR
What's Goin On - Marvin Gaye

Was the way Nicks and Buckingham sang "The Chain" on Fleetwood Mac's most recent tour mentioned?

    Bitter as HELL.

And . . .special mention for the part in Jessie's Girl where Springfield sings, "She's loving him with that body, I just KNOW IT!!!"

The Say You Will tour was "The Chain on Ritalin.

The Dance tour had more of that anger.

  7. The angriest song ever, in my mind, is "Sex Type Thing" by STP.

Everything about it teems with rage.

Marilyn Manson's "Fight Song" is pretty damn angry, too.

    Elvis Costello:

    "Welcome to the Working Week"
    "How to be Dumb"
    "Worthless Thing"
    "Tramp the Dirt Down"
    "I Hope You're Happy Now"
    "Less Than Zero"

Also, about 80% of Graham Parker's catalog.

"Never Talking to You Again" - Husker Du. Nothing like acoustic anger.
"Ciao" - Lush (with Jarvis Cocker of Pulp). Exes busting each other's balls - there's a song that needs to be in a movie.
"Eat My Dust You Insensitive Fuck" - Catherine Wheel. Just for the title.
"Caribou" - Pixies. Especially live, when Frank Black does not hold back on "Re-pent!"

    Jerk -- Kim Stockwood

Since you've been gone I feel so much better
Cause I saw how mean you could be
I used to want some explanation
Now all I want is my Patsy Cline CD

    How I've waited for today
    When I could finally say

    You jerk
    You jerk
    You are such a jerk
    There are other words
    But they just don't work

Sometimes I wish I'd mailed you that letter
That said the things I dare not say
Instead I set the thing on fire
I had to say this outloud anyway

I'm so glad I found the nerve
    To say what you deserve

    You jerk
    You jerk
    You are such a jerk
    There are other words
    But they just don't work

They try to be so cool
    Insult you like a fool
Never take your call when you're nobody at all
Until you're somebody and then they want to be your friend
How come jerks don't know they're jerks
    (I don't know)

So next time someone makes you feel little
Just sing this song inside your head
And like a great big cartoon bubble
These lovely words will dance above their head

    How I've waited for today
    When I could finally say

    You jerk
    You jerk
    You are such a jerk
    There are other words
    But they just don't work

    You jerk
    You jerk
    You are such a jerk
    There are other words
    But they just don't work

    "Eton Rifles" - The Jam

    "My War" - Black Flag

"Killing In The Name" - Rage Against The Machine

"I Am The Killer" - Thursday

And my favorite, "The Butterfly Collector" by The Jam. This is what happens when you piss off Paul Weller:

So you finally got what you wanted
You’ve achieved your aim by making me walk in line
And when you just can’t get any higher
You use your senses to suss out this week’s climber
And the small fame that you’ve acquired
Has brought you into cult status
But to me you’re still a collector

There’s tarts and whores but you’re much more
You’re a different kind cause you want their minds
And you just don’t care cause you’ve got no pride
It’s just a face on your pillowcase
    That thrills you

And you started looking much older
And your fashion sense is second rate like your perfume
But to you in your little dream world
You’re still the queen of the butterfly collectors

As you carry on cause it’s all you know
    You can’t light a fire
    You can’t cook or sew
You get from day to day by filling your head
But surely you must know the appeal between your legs
    Has worn off

And I don’t care about morals
Cause the world’s insane and we’re all to blame anyway
And I don’t feel any sorrow
Towards the kings and queens of the butterfly collectors

There’s tarts and whores but you’re much more
You’re a different kind cause you want their minds
And you just don’t care cause you’ve got no pride
It’s just a face on your pillowcase
    That thrills you

As you carry on cause it’s all you know
    You can’t light a fire
    You can’t cook or sew
You get from day to day by filling your head
But surely you must know the appeal between your legs
    Has worn off

And I don’t feel any sorrow
Towards the kings and queens of the butterfly collectors
