Angel Reyes leaving Sports Illustrated News Bureau

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by write then drink, Dec 12, 2008.

  1. I thought this should be a separate thread since so many of us have dealt with Angel as SI stringers over the years. He sent this email out this afternoon:

Angel is a class act and has spent nearly half a century with Time Inc. He'll be greatly missed (as will the free-lance checks).

    Buyout or layoff?

Aw, hell, guess the only correct answer nowadays is "Yes."

Angel is a great guy to deal with. His folks named him right. Rough timing, with the holidays and all, but maybe he'll get more time for the important things of family and friends.

    Feliz Navidad!

    Wow.
Dealt with Angel many times through the years. He probably worked with thousands of stringers and was always as cordial as could be in my dealings with him.
