anyone else watch this? Pretty impressive performance.

I'm still skeptical he only used it briefly two different times and he's not a hero for fessing up only when he was under oath, but if his idiot buddy Roger was watching, he could have learned a thing or six about humility, damage control and how merely coming across as a decent human being gets you the benefit of the doubt nine times out of 10.

He admitted only to using HGH before there were penalties for steroid use, so he's OK. At least, that's how they've done it so far.

 

HGH wasn't banned until 2005. Conveniently, he didn't confess to using after that.

Pettitte will soon find out what Jason Giambi and a few others already have: That this country is very, very forgiving.

Why Bonds, Rocket and many others can't figure that out is beyond me. Egos are a dangerous thing.

 

The difference is that Pettitte and Giambi were and are respected by their peers, adored by fans and friendly with the media. Bonds and Clemens are dicks and few people like them.

Lo Duca will be an interesting test case. Fans and writers generally like him (some writers and analysts think he hung the moon), but fellow players don't care much for him.
