I commend this writer. This may sound bad and I don't mean it to be. But to know you will be killed when you have a family like he does? I don't know. I think he was sort of committing suicide. I mean I agree with him standing up for what is right, but I personally don't think his dying is worth it. I think he could have continued to write good stuff from afar. I just think if he KNEW he was going to be killed it was wrong to continue on. I mean we only live once. I guess to him it was worth leaving his loved ones for the cause. I just think DEATH is not worth it.

    well, there was this:

"It is well known that I was on two occasions brutally assaulted, while on another my house was sprayed with machine-gun fire. Despite the government's sanctimonious assurances, there was never a serious police inquiry into the perpetrators of these attacks, and the attackers were never apprehended. In all these cases, I have reason to believe the attacks were inspired by the government. When finally I am killed, it will be the government that kills me."

Well, yes. I guess I was more curious about the timing of the editorial; the man called his own number days ahead of the fact. I hadn't figured he'd written it well in advance.

The most specific example that he saw what was coming was from the Time article: "Wickrematunge had worried over the past few days that he was being followed."

    EDIT: Spelling
