Oh please, tell me what I'm missing. The "Document contains no data" message is too easy.

Got through and have tears in my eyes.... I am moved. I am touched. I am not making this up...

" Albom is literally a teller of fables, a peddler of shallow morality tales for the masses."

"In For One More Day, Chick celebrates his extra day with Mom by feasting on her home cooking, reminiscing about Halloween costumes, and, of course, reliving his childhood traumas. What advice does Mom impart to set things right? "Forgive." Forgive who? "Yourself," says Mom. At which point Chick awakens very much alive. My first thought was that this was dreadfully shallow. My second thought was that this Albomian koan seemed awfully familiar. And, sure enough, there it was, on Page 166 of Tuesdays With Morrie. "It's not just other people we need to forgive, Mitch," Morrie says. "We also need to forgive ourselves."

"If you build it, she will come."

    "Ease her pain."

    "Go the distance."

    "Mom, wanna have a catch?"

And yet, the housewifes and lemmings keep coming back to the sea.
    I weep.
They don't know when they're being suckered, being taken advantage of by an insincere sincerity.
    I weep.

If we were to take to task every sports writer's transparent, superficial, moralizing, gloppy attempts to manipulate readers' emotions by finding deeper meanings in stupid games played by mostly stupid people, this thread would never fucking end.
