    Another vote for Gayle Sayers. As a Packer fan back in the '60s, I was terrified at the thought of him in the open field.

    I know it's a lot of ifs, but if Jackson had played exclusively in the NFL, and if he had stayed healthy to have a 10-year career, I think he would be among the best backs of all-time.

    I almost posted something similar, though I thought JR might be referring to some obscure hockey player of the same name. ;)

    But yeah, "cut short" implies involuntary. Brown left on his own terms, for better or worse.
