Out of 800 plus locations, 300 or so are closing.
They are the ones corporately owned.
The franchise stores, like the one in my town, will stay open.
Bennigan's manager here told me that most of the workers at the corporate stores didn't know it was coming.
Only the manager knew. People showed up at work, came to doors that were locked.

Won't someone think of the flair?

Unfortunately, it was the only good thing on the menu.

Steak and Ales are also being closed since they are owned by the same company.
That company, based in Plano, sashayed up to Plano Sherman to file for bankruptcy protection today as well.
I guess they thought no one in the media would notice if they got far enough away from Dallas.
    Oops.
This is the same company that a month ago denied they were going to file for bankruptcy.

    Bennigan's is headquartered in Plano.

My bad, on edit, it should say Sherman and not Plano for bankruptcy court.

"Plano...is there any evil with which it isn't complicit?"

Not surprised given the one that I've been to twice. Stick a fork in Bennigan's!

That was my go to restaraunt in college. Goodbye Big Irish.

    This sucks. Great burgers.

I hope that's your pull quote for the front page.

Good hangout for about a year. Once saw some woman get absolutely T-boned pulling out of the parking lot there, which was quite amusing (everyone was OK).

Good meal, good food. Just really far from anywhere else.

Had an awful Bennigan's trip the other weekend. 45 minutes wait for a cold greasy burger, delivered by a jackass waiter whose name tag actually said "Superman."
Can't say I'll miss them. They give actual Irish pubs (and their better US imitators) a bad name.
