Pray tell, does the lad work at a paper now?

Thank god this thread has, after 11 pages and over 12,000 views, reached its conclusion -- unless Randy decides to shuffle young Gentry Estes around and revive it! :)

It was a fun thread.. no rancor, no malice and, until now, no end in sight.

So who wants to write the epilogue? Slappy? John? Gentry?

    Wait just a Pluto minute.

The new guy is from "Mickey Mousedom, Fla." so that's a wide, wide swath of land in the Orlando-Kissimmee area to discuss.

And congrats to Mr. App as he begins a new life of football, catfish tournaments and spring baseball.

Agreed, although I would like to keep a thread like this going for other positions down the line.
Not so much for the people involved and the places to eat in each city -- those have proven to be a plus, for the information and the civility.
But I think seeing the domino effect of a job posting and how it affects other papers and people along the way is an interesting study.
Mobile became Chattanooga, which became Florence, then Julio had to screw it up by hiring someone who was a part timer and the chain stopped.
But it would be interesting to see, say, how Orlando becomes Roanoke becomes Albany becomes Oneonta becomes ... you get the drift.

You forgot to mention ATV races, lawnmower races and the obligatory little league baseball stories.

Any word if App. State's win played in on App's hiring?
