AJC lays off entire graphics department

    Damn. I remember back when I was working in Chattanooga and, before that, Dalton in the late 80s the AJC was one of, if not THE, most graphic-heavy paper this side of USA Today.

    I would guess that the layout people will be doing their own graphics, that graphics won't vanish from the paper. But this is a bizarre twist considering how keen Atlanta had been on the alternative-story-forms-will-save-us-all mind-set not too long ago.
