Shake his hand? No I'm not gonna fuckin shake his hand. What are we, business associates?

I was one of those mall survey people once. Worst job I've ever had, even though I only did it for three weeks.

Know what I always tell the T-Mobile people?
I'd rather be raped in prison than try your service again.

Hahaha, sucker, that's what you get for going to the mall!

Yeah, T-Mobile is shit. Cell phone salespeople represent the only reason I enjoy living in a town that doesn't have a legitimate mall...don't have to put up with them.

Had an aggressive sales chick approach me at a hockey game. I walked right by her, didn't make eye contact. She follows me and grabs my arm near the elbow.

    Oh HELL no.

I whipped around and yelled at her as if she was Stranger Danger. Then she made some snarky remark about me being a bitch but I was already turned back around and five steps ahead of her. My poor boyfriend, whose hand I was holding when all this happened, had no idea what was going on and thought I was just yelling at some random girl.

I understand they have a job to do, but they rely on the fact that most people just don't want to be assholes, especially face to face. I do not have this problem. If they don't take a quick "No, thank you," they deserve to be treated like less than dirt.

Are they just taught to get your attention at any costs? I figured there'd be some sort of no-touching rule in effect.

Actual conversation I had with a mall cell phone kiosk once:

"Sir, come on over here and tell me about your cell phone."

"Well, what do you want to know?"

    "Do you like your service?"

    "Yes."

    "Do you like your plan?"

    "Yes."

"Let me show you how we stack up."

    "OK."

He proceeds to compare them to my carrier. At the end of his presentation, he says:

"So what do you think? You ready to switch?"

    "I have a contract."

    "When does it expire?"

    "23 months."

"You can't get out of it?"

"Can I get out a contract through you guys?"

"Thanks for stopping by. If you ever want to change ..."

    "I won't for at least 23 months."

He immediately walked away. I couldn't stop smiling.

Would complaining to mall management help?
I know Simon Malls say they're supposed to have a "hassle free" environment.

I thought this thread was meant to discuss one of the new career options we'll have when the layoffs get us.
