If we get the first tie in the NFL since 2004 -- and we're 1:29 away -- how many places are going to have to do the vehemently unwanted and mess with their NFL standings form?

How does a tie make doing the standings any more difficult? Is that even what you were implying? I'm confused.

Yeah, doesn't AP already move standings (both regular and expanded) with the tie column?

Yes. That's why I'm confused. A tie simply means a "1" will show up in each team's "T" column. It should take no more time to do those standings than it normally would.

I'm not even sure if that's what the guy was implying. If so, I don't get it.

Sorry, must be a paper-by-paper thing. We've got several people here who are closer to their newspaper days than I am, and a couple were discussing how their papers had removed the tie column to make it fit better. I guess it's far from universal, so sort of never mind. ::)

"The guy"? With all my veteran-ness here, I'm referred to as "the guy"?

    Geez. :)

Heck, I'd have no problem doing that as long as you don't call me "the guy" while I'm doing it.
