Interested to hear from the female membership of SJ how they would feel if they were told to "act like a lady"

"Now wait a minute, don't interrupt me," he said. "I didn't interrupt you. Act like a lady."

Offended by any comparison to Michelle Bachmann:

I think he may have been cut off before he finished his comment. I believe he was going to say "Act like a lady of the night."

See you at the meatball. 8)

If Arlen had been thinking, he would have finished the argument with a Tramp reference.

She was being rude and did not allow him to finish a sentence. After listening to it, you can see why he said what he said.

He probably should have had a different tact, though, but he was right.

"Act like professional," would have been a much better retort.

She does sound rude. Spector is a gentlemen and Bachman should have acted more deferential towards him.

Its true in business and true in politics. Women when debating men need to conduct themselves in a demure manner if they want to get somewhere. It's just the way it is.

For real. What the hell was Bachman doing out of the kitchen anyway? She never would have made it home in time to cook dinner.

He should have just told her to act like a nutball. She'd understand that.

Specter is a Democrat and has a record of voting for women's issues and from what we've learned around here that means what he said was in no way misogynistic, chauvanistic or sexist and in fact, he could have told her "to go back to the kitchen where she belongs" and he would have still been given the benefit of the doubt that he would not have been given had he remained in the GOP........

See, isn't tolerance and diversity great, YAY!!!! ::)
