ACL Tear

    There's a girl in my coverage area who tore one ACL, did the whole rehab thing, then tore the other ACL against the same opponent at the same point in the schedule, 364 days later. I've wanted to do a series on ACL injuries but it remains one of those 'never enough time' projects.

    One of my old papers won an APSE about 10 years ago for that exact project.

    One theory I'd heard is that their wider hips changes the angle and tension of the ligament, making them more susceptible to tear.

    Glad to hear she went the patella route for reconstruction, not the cadaver.
    Another theory I've heard is that girls simply have smaller and thinner ACLs than boys.
