    They weren't. There are a lot of people who have been HIV-positive for 20 years or so.

    Well he can certainly afford any care he chooses.

    On another note, the AIDS folk on the day he announced he had tested positive predicted how he would become a social pariah. They were wrong in their hysteria and doomspeak. Now if he isn't infected and it was all a lie, they get their credibility back.
