Every person connected with the Harrisburg Patriot-News should be incredibly proud to work for a local newspaper that still cares about putting resources into informing the community.

Very simply, a huge story for them, and they've risen to the occasion.

Rick had a lot of experience covering sports, as he had been doing it since high school. Either way, let's not tell this obviously talented woman where she should work.

I'm confused about one thing in their reporting. When the new AG took over the Patriot News profiled her in August and there was a throwaway line in it about how she would be taking over some high profile cases; one on pension fraud and the other being the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse case.

She must wrap up a child molestation grand jury investigation of former Penn State football assistant Jerry Sandusky.

If they knew about the investigation back in August (and likely before that), why did the story just break?

Because the grand jury testimony just came out.

Paterno sat for the grand jury last March. Everybody knew that.

Even ESPN had it at the time. sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6276219

The story only broke big when the Sandusky indictment came down. He was arrested Saturday. The local reporting has been terrific since then, but they aren't driving or defining this story.

Pulitzer because....the reporter talked to the adult-victims' mothers? (At least one victim is 24)

It would not get my vote.
