Sorry if this is Germans, but this is interesting stuff to me and I didn't see a discussion:

I wonder what impact this will have on ESPN.com and Yahoo! Sport? Will they become redundant and one be phased out?

    Curious.

I think ESPN will be phased out. :D

Ha. There are areas though where Yahoo tends to excel, but ESPN has merely dabbled. And there is obviously some big-name talent on the Yahoo side too.

Probably zero impact - considering this is the third time ABC and Yahoo have announced a partnership in the last decade. And it's just ABC News - nothing else.

I understand what ABC gets out of it. Yahoo not so much.

Speaking of ESPN...whatever happened to that Poynter thing?

Yup. This is strictly news. Sports is not affected.

A mention on Good Morning America?

ABC's on-air talent doing more Web-only stuff for ABCNews.com and Yahoo, starting with an interview today with President Obama.

I am very happy about this because it aggregates two groups that I completely ignore into one group that is even easier to ignore. If they could cut a deal for exclusive coverage of the NBA, it would be just perfect.

    And here's a good analysis.

This doesn't sound like a company ready to do anything bad to Yahoo Sports. From the NYT:
