Soriano is a butcher at second base.

I thought we were just talking offense. He'd be a disaster there defensively, but ... holy shit ... think of the offense: Lee, Soriano, Rodriguez, Ramirez. Holyfark.

The brass better not make that trade.

And if your going to talk about best infields, you have to include defense in the discussion.

Is he any better in the outfield?

I don't think Cashman would ever want to make that trade-but I'm sure Steinbrenner would give it some thought.

    D-Lee is a Gold Glover.
Ramirez played Gold Glove caliber defense this year (which I never thought was possible).
    A-Rod wasn't a bad defensive shortstop.
DeRosa is great with the glove.

I don't believe this weakens my argument.

Well, then I hope Steinbrenner really isn't involved anymore - except to continue to pump money into the Yankees.

I think the defense part was in reference to the idea of Soriano at 2B.

Which, admittedly, you didn't bring up.

With the glove, he's mediocre at best.
His arm is one of the best in the game in LF.

When he still played for the Yankees I never understood why he wouldn't switch to the outfield, of course getting rid of him has worked out pretty well for the Yankees.
