A psychologist on liberals...this ought to stir some debate on a Monday

People who are way too rabid in their ideology are the ones with mental disorders. The kind of person who can't disagree with other's beliefs without taking it to, "they all have mental disorders," is the one who is fucked up in my view. You can't disagree on ideological grounds, so you have to try to demonize the people you disagree with? It's so weak.

The "liberal" tag is beyond stupid. It's another demonization technique that has been taken to ridiculous proportions. Call someone a "liberal" and you are putting them down. How did we get there? We are a country based on liberal ideals. Liberalism holds individual rights, equality of opportunity, freedom of thought and respect for the rule of law as our highest ideals. We have a Bill of Rights that was borne from liberal ideals and it is what gives us our freedom and liberty. Did the people who were for freedom of religion, freedom of speech, protection against cruel and unusual punishment, etc., all suffer from mental disorders?

 

The founding fathers were a bunch of socialists.
