must get to last line to see why this thread uses MMQ instead of MMQB:

steve gleason is my hero and makes me feel like a lazy, useless, self-pitying, self-loathing pile of crap... i wasnt sure which SportsJournalists.com category this should be placed so i took this one 'cause i suspect it gets the most traffic. mods move if necessary....

Apparently the Atlanta ESPN Radio station's morning show "Mayhem in the A.M." ran a segment where the hosts "interviewed" Gleason by having "Gleason" answer questions in a computer-generated voice (think: Stephen Hawking).

Haven't seen any links to the audio. Radio host openings in Atlanta in 3 ... 2 ... 1.

It's in poor taste, but similar bits about Stephen Hawking are everywhere and nobody's freaking out over that. I'm not sure there's much of a difference.

Well, these guys work (or worked) for the station that is (for now) the Falcons' flagship station. This is infinitely worse that "a tremendous amount of sex."

I've long been a Gleason fan. Doesn't hurt that we went to WSU at the same time. How he's faced ALS head-on has been incredible, to say the least. This column is certainly proof of that.
Trivia tidbit of the day: For years when the WSU flags waved on ESPN College GameDay, there was Ol' Crimson and there was Whitey, a white flag with a crimson Coug logo. Team Gleason's motto is "No White Flags," so last year Whitey was retired and replaced with a grey flag.
