    I guess it will be safe to assume that if this poor guy ever proposes to another woman, it will be indoors.

    Great idea for a screenplay: Every time the lead character falls in love, the girl dies in some bizarre, improbable, drummer-from-Spinal-Tap manner.

    And he's so distraught that he tries to kill himself but keeps getting saved.

    Exactly, that would be fantastic.
    Take the idea of that awful 'Final Destination' movie franchise. As each declaration of love or marriage proposal looms, the sequence of events leading to the next death start to unfold in hilarious, Rube Goldberg mechanics.
    With each botched suicide attempt, the reverse happens.


    That's gold.
