Deck shoes [and playing tennis in them] is the reason why at 33 I look like a newborn horse trying to walk when getting up off the floor.

Personally, I'm so glad that stretch pants have come back.

    Hopefully stirrup pants are next!

Muahahah! I had several pairs of stirrup pants that I paired with huge sweatshirts with writing on them, slouch socks, L.A. Gear tennis shoes and a scrunchie in my crimped hair.

You'll notice, sadly, that none of that was written in blue.

I'll pay $100 to anybody who can find photos of IJAG in that outfit.

IJAG -- I may be able to top you.

One of my very favorite outfits when I was younger was a turquoise tunic sweater over "paint-splattered" stonewashed jeans that I tucked into black fringed boots.

And yes, documented evidence of said outfit exists.

(I will slink away in embarrassment now...)

    Speaking of trends,

What the fuck is with the reemergence of ripped jeans?

OMG, I SO wanted the paint-splattered jeans! My mom offered to splatter paint on mine. She didn't get it.

Did you ever write all over your jeans? My friends and I would sign each other's jeans, writing inside jokes and hearts and all that stuff. My mom died the first time I came home with "Jen (heart)'s Steve" written right above my knee.

Is this still a current fad? Honestly, I thought the collar look came back "in" three or four years ago and is now back "out."
