If you have time, retype the comments and hope the site has taken some Gas-X so you don't lose them again.

It's pretty much common knowledge that the site goes down for 15-20 minutes near the end of the day (EST), right? Just don't try posting then! :)

    EAST
    1. No Depression - Uncle Tupelo — The deepest root of the tree.
9.Where'd You Hide the Body - James McMurtry — Songwriter
    12. Bigger Piece of Sky - Robert Earl Keene — Not the upset you might think
    4. I Feel Alright - Steve Earle — I also feel alright with this pick
    3. Strangers Almanac - Whiskeytown — The best album in this side of the bracket.
    6. Songs for the Daily Planet - Todd Snider — Love me some Todd Snider.
    7. Down By the Old Mainstream - Golden Smog — This should have been a higher seed, IMO.
    15. Mermaid Avenue - Billy Bragg & Wilco — Lucinda is no Duke sitting at No. 2. Never cared for her voice.

    MIDWEST
    1. Trace - Son Volt — While wholey tempted to go with Gillian, because I love her ...
    8. Dog Days - Blue Mountain — I hate you for making me choose.
12.Northern Kingdom - Cheri Knight — Umm, not familiar with either musician. Stab in the dark
    13. Hey You - Jack Ingram — DBT early isn't the same as later DBT
    14. Wrecking Ball - Emmylou Harris — No Emmywho here
11.The Virginian - Neko Case — I heart Neko Case
    7. Welfare Music Bottle Rockets - Bottle Rockets — Have I ever told the story of how I was a one night roadie for the Bottle Rockets?
    2. AM - Wilco — Love Slaid, but Wilco gets the nod.

    SOUTH
    1. Being There - Wilco — But which disc, 1 or 2?
    9. Joshua Judges Rick Ruth - Lyle Lovett — Lyle but this was another hard one
    5. Black Eyed Man - Cowboy Junkies — I'm a recovering addict
4.Honky Tonk Union - Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers — Umm, who? Stab, dark, rinse, repeat.
    3.Too Far To Care - Old 97s — I still care.
    6. Bottle Rockets - Brooklyn Side — It was completely awesome. I knew which way to put the speakers in the van, and they said that made a good roadie.
    10. Tomorrow the Green Grass - The Jayhawks — I, for one, love the Jayhawks
2.Straightaways - Son Volt — Again, really tempted by Patti Griffin, because I love her.

    WEST
1.Anodynne - Uncle Tupelo — I've been to Iris's hometown, but I've also been to Tupelo.
    8. Train a Comin' - Steve Earle — I used to have a copy of Steve Earle in quotes, but I don't know where it is.
    5. Lucinda Williams - Lucinda Williams — Only because I don't know who the other guy is
    13. Del Rio Texas 1959 - Radney Foster — Radney is awesome.
3.Hollywood Town Hall - Jayhawks — Another one where I hate to choose but HTH is, maybe, the best the Jayhawks have done.
    6. Pneumonia - Whiskeytown — One of all-time favorite albums. I bought my copy at the Hastings in Murfressboro, Tennessee. Remember it like it was yesterday.
    10. Fight Songs - Old 97s — Just because.
2.Summerteeth - Wilco — While my personal mythology has me attending the same pre-school as Ms. Kraus, different years, she hasn't done anything along the lines of Via Chicago. Maybe the best Wilco song and utterly unbelievable live.

She was against Dave Alvin, who you probably know better as the main songwriter and lead guitarist (but not lead vocalist) for The Blasters.

If you remember a late 90s band The Refreshments, Roger Clyne was their lead singer and primary guitarist.

The other guy was Butch Hancock, one third of the legendary band The Flatlanders. Also the songwriter for Joe Ely's concert staple "If You Were a Bluebird"

So why haven't you voted yet? :)

Side note to everyone else: I'm working a desk shift tonight, but hopefully I'll find time to post the results at some point during the night.

Sorry, E. It was on my radar all week, but I got sidetracked the last couple of days doing moving-related stuff. I'm definitely in for the next round if it's too late to jump in for the first.

If you want to jump in for the first, go right ahead. I'll hold off on posting the results until later tonight - I'll just need to add your votes.
