So, amid your long-winded analogy that has zero to do with the actual discussion, what were the answers?

Get off the "if you were smart you'd understand" bit ... You don't know, and I don't know ... Hell, even Starman, who's the smartest human who's ever lived, doesn't know.

Now that I think of it, you know who your analogy reminded me of? The Bush administration.

No matter what they were told, whether it was that Iraq didn't attack us, or that they wouldn't greet us with flowers, or that they wouldn't have a unified country if we got Saddam out, or that there were actually difference between Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds, they still insisted that the war was a success.

    Good point.

    Stop doing it yourself.

I didn't start the "If you were smart" bit. AQB did. I had a response that refuted his statement.

See, I'm using #conservativemethods to argue.

    Sucks, doesn't it?

Of course, you can expand that in the past a few more years to say they would prefer that we never came in the first place.

For the average Iraq citizen just minding his own business . . .

Iraq before 2003 > Iraq with American troops there > Iraq after American troops left and ISIS took control

Sometimes (well, most of the time) America would do well to follow Joshua's advice from War Games: "The only winning move is not to play."

Careful, Docquant is going to accuse you of being smarter than everyone else and having the gall to use #nuance.
