I knew that sentence would come back to bite me when I typed it. I should have been clearer.

What happens to the girls is unforgivable. That's why I call these people pedophiles. They are preying on children. Being forced to marry a man 40 years older and then raped at 12 is a horrific life.

The boys don't get any better treatment. They're treated as castoffs. Shunned by their families because they might compete with the elders for wives.

So the boys aren't treated better. They're sentenced to their own brand of Hell for being born into this cult.

Some very ominious quotes coming out of Eldorado this afternoon.

Probably the only thing in this entire thread that could make me laugh. Much appreciated.

And we have the authorities forcibly entering the temple on the ranch grounds.

The comments at the bottom of the story are both hilarious and nauseating.

It's unclear whether they've removed the girl who made the original complaint. They've also removed a good number of boys from the compound.

Things sound like they are getting crazy down there. I am actually going to be traveling somewhat near there tomorrow, so I hope it doesn't get too out of control.

As far as the comments go, it reminds me how fucking insane people can be.

    Re: the comments

The way some people defend the Branch Davidians pisses me off to no end.

Koresh claimed to be Christ. He was a pedophile. Yet the extreme fringe right-wingers act like he was nothing but an innocent good ole' Baptist preacher who was murdered by the ATF and FBI because he owned a huntin' rifle.

Uncertain. But I wouldn't put too much stock in anything written in that book.
