230 MPG Car

    Yeah, they had them out showing them off to the public one day and I was shocked that the gas mileage wasn't better. I'd much, much rather have a mini cooper for that size and gas mileage.

    When my 1998 Civic that I commute with craps out (202,000 miles), it will be replaced by a Fit or a 4x2 pickup that gets 35+ MPG. They have to be working on the latter.

    The only real appeal of the smart is the price.
    There are better quality vehicles that get better mileage than the smart, but smarts are cheap.

    This sounds somewhat promising. As someone who needs a compact pickup for work, I agree with the assessment that some large pickups are being discounted so they're cheaper than the compacts. Maybe I can hold out until 2012.
