Being able to look at Bosworth for much of the movie was about its only redeeming quality; I found it boring and predictable for the most part. And I didn't find the ending all that twisty.

The dealers at Binion's are pretty good about that, especially if you're placing dealer bets for them.

Movie was fun, but nothing great about it. No shot at any awards.

Not that it would have been possible, but it didn't do anything close to justice for the book.

To do it while Benny was alive would have been sheer insanity.

Dealers in cahoots with players? That's why they have floormen.

As long as the floor is getting a cut from the dealers, they'll look the other way too.

Last time I was playing blackjack in the Stardust, the dealer got to where he wouldn't even wait on me to make a motion. He probably made $200 in his 30-minute down at that table off the four of us placing dealer bets. We all made considerably more than that.

I dont' think it happens to Joe and June tourist, and not regularly.

My guess would be most guys who get the treatment like to, as a rule, avoid the legal system

Joe and June Tourist are oblivious to the nuances.

They'll go to the El Cortez and get preferential-shuffled out of their gaming budgets, toot suite.

I should have used quote function. I was referring to the guys that beat up

The movie was so goddamn full of plot holes that it was astounding.

A kid so smart that he's in the running for a top scholarship at Harvard, he's acing MIT and he can count cards in a casino.

But the best he can do with his cash is hide it in a dorm room ceiling.

    Give me a fuckin' break.

Also, how were these people cashing out hundreds of thousands of dollars without filling out a tax form at the window? And if they used those fake IDs in that instance, the "we're not doing anything illegal" thing goes right out the window.

Also also, if the guy's dorm room is burgled and legitimately acquired money is stolen, why doesn't he report it to the cops? For that matter, why does he not at any point threaten to expose Spacey and ruin his career? Think that might have gotten his incomplete taken care of? He has huge leverage over the guy, and they never even address that.

Mezrich's book was much, much better than the movie.
