Or 160 feet or about half a football field from the back of each end zone.

    Insane.

I was kind of surprised nobody lodged a protest after that. The outside horse was lugging hard and initiated the contact. I think it might have been after they hit the wire, but the jockey for the inside horse actually reached over and shoved the outside horse with his right hand to create space.

Can't argue with you there. Not a great call.

Not what you asked for, but I find this virtual race so interesting. All the triple crown winners, if they had run the Derby together.

Seems like Mystik Dan, Sierra Leone and many other Derby horses are skipping the Preakness and going straight to Saratoga to prep for the Belmont.

Not only did he not know Mystik Dan was in front, he dramatically announced Resilience had taken the lead when Mystik Dan was already a couple lengths ahead of him.

Never understood the hesitation for horses to run all three TC races. Hell, these creatures were bred to do this, trained to do this - and it gets to that point and you hold back? Are they that fragile? Is the risk of them breaking down that high? If so, the sport has some serious questions to ask itself.

    Bred for speed, not durability.
