Domestic Product sounds pretty gross to me.

I know nothing about the horses, but the names are great.

Take Mystik Dan to take it all. Just a hunch. o_O

I saw a (short) commercial about it this week. Without it, I wouldn’t have known the race was this Saturday. I probably haven’t watched it live in years.

    I doubt I’m alone.

Fierceness is in a bad PP. Chasing Freedom will get hammered down in the odds as people make political statements via $2 bets. If Honor Marie gets a good trip, I expect it'll hit the board.

Happy Derby Day to y’all. May your mint julep be strong and your trifecta cash.

    A five-hour NBC promo for a two-minute race. What a country!

Seriously, pretty damn cool for a sports event in the United States to be doing 150 of anything. With the inaugural running in 1875, it predates by one month the first college football game played under rules that have evolved into today's game. That July, Alexander Graham Bell called Thomas Watson to ask who beat.

Its also older than the formation of the National League by one year. The U.S. Open (tennis) started six years later and U.S. Open (golf) is a relative upstart, dating to 1895.

At one stop, had one photog who was shocked to hear the lyric "the people are gay" ... until I told him the original lyric.
