The Patriot League membership would be for football only, which the Big East doesn't sponsor. It would not leave the Big East for other sports. It is presently an football-only member of the CAA.

Richmond is a football-only member of the CAA. It will remain in the A-10 and will play Patriot League football as an affiliate member. This is exactly what Villanova would do as well.

Yes. This seems like a "get in where you fit in" sort of agreement.

Depending how the schedule looks in 2026, guessing ESPN keeps Granddaddy and the Sugar in the 5 p.m./8:30 p.m. EST slots on NYD.

FOX releases its Friday night football schedule. Rutgers at USC, 11 p.m. EDT, 8 p.m. PDT. Should get great ratings in the NYC market.

So Rutgers charters six hours across country on Thursday, plays until 11:30 or so on Friday night, then flies back six hours either all night Friday or on Saturday. Either way, three whole days.

Oregon, Washington and UCLA all get two Friday night games, something that never happened in the Pac-12. UCLA's are back-to-back.

But remember, Big Ten expansion to the West Coast is all about the student/athlete.

I remember when Friday night games were first a thing, and the B1G vowed to never play them. How time$ change.

Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin told the commish they would not play Friday night games, or at least home games. None of those teams has a Friday night special.

Sparty gets an 8 p.m. home kickoff on Nov. 22. Going to be nice and toasty.
