2022 NFL Offseason Thread

There’s a great movie to be made of the situation Baker Mayfield finds himself. In a fictional world, Mayfield plays for the Browns while hating them, takes them to the Super Bowl and then decides not play in the Super Bowl just to spite the team.

 

The league does not want justice. The league wants quiet, an end to the bad publicity.

 

Replace “the league” with “parents” and this is what I used to tell my kids regularly.

Two minor quibbles:

1) Sam didn't like the "Field Mouse" nickname. "General Mills"? That was better. Thanks to a book covering the Panthers over the first season for that nugget.
2) The statue outside the stadium is not life-sized. It's bigger. A good friend who lives there went with me along with another to grab a shot or two of the statue. He is 6-foot-2 and the statue was still taller – from head to toe, not from head to base of statue. Sam Mills was 5-9.
