You would think by now GMs would learn the lesson Edgar Martinez taught everybody years ago but here we are almost three decades and it's still happening

I still want to know what the Orioles' tarp crew did to get tossed en masse last night.

Ump didn't eject them. He just ordered them to move away from behind the tarp as a safety measure because contrary to what the crew thought, he wasn't calling a rain delay.

Many were standing or sitting on the tarp or on the warning track in foul ground. In other words, they weren't in particularly great position to evacuate if a pop up had come their way and the NYY first baseman had needed his space. I'm kind of surprised umpires ever let grounds crew personnel sit on the tarp or on the field. I thought the ump's actions were reasonable.
I do find it interesting that this is the first time I have ever seen it: When the beloved Yankees are fighting for a postseason spot and the game's a bit too close for MLB HQ's comfort. The level of the umpire's angst was interesting. It was as if he was personally irritated by it.
Umpire Tim Timmons grew up in Columbus, Ohio, when NYY's Triple-A team was located there. Also interesting.

Pitcher Kevin Gausman hit a one out bases loaded sac fly to win 6-5 in extras.

    Oh and LA finally lost.

    Whattup @Songbird?

Gausman is the reason I picked SF to win the West early in the season.

Watched him pitch. He's got that rough edge like Gibson had in '88. He has It.

The '21 Giants took on that edgy persona.

The '21 Giants have It too.
