Curious move. Guess he doesn't want to coach the Hokies. That gig may be available in a year if not in a week.
South Carolina has its challenges, and they wound up hiring a guy with a name but no experience as a head coach or coordinator. Wonder how extensive that search for a minority coach went.

    Texas lost to Iowa State.

If that didn't seal it, nothing will.

    So who does Texas hire?

More interesting: What will the transfer portal carousel look like w/ immediate eligibility for underclassmen?

    100% chance they hire Urb.

    Urban Meyer or Lane Kiffin.

Lane's not top-shelf enough; they need to hammer this hire.

(Also, I hope Lane 2.0 happens in Knoxville).

Texas clearly needs someone with a proven track record of recruiting, turning around previously bad programs and getting along with dipstick rich boosters.

They should take a look at Mack Brown.

Maybe we're missing the obvious: Mike Leach!

    Time'ta bring him back home.

He'd fit politically with the power-brokers/top donors. But would they tolerate the quirks?

Be a tough sell to hire a guy that's likely to go 2-8 at Mississippi State in his first year.
