Kentucky sucks. Glad that's out of the way already.

Well, another concussion and he might forget he left early.

If you're going to get Kentucky, get 'em early with all those freshmen still figuring out each other's names. Maryland +11 was a big, fat winner.

Handful of Red Line Upsets on Day 1: Troy 56-53 Mississippi State, Rutgers 52-56 St. Peter's, Purdue 65-70 Bucknell, Florida State 71-76 South Alabama.

South Dakota State nearly did the old NCC proud but lost 70-67 at Alabama. Nebraska-Omaha christened the Ralston Arena by beating Northern Illinois 77-64. Woo!

Don't know if this ruins the atmosphere of cordiality, but, top UCLA recruit DQ'ed 90 minutes before game:

Everyone in Vegas knew something around Shabazz was shady. Guess the NCAA found it.

I was at Pauley Pavilion. The vibe I got is that UCLA wanted to portray a sense of shock, but it wasn't very convincing.

Bruins are pretty good anyway. Maybe not national championship-good as they might've been with Shabazz, but pretty strong nonetheless.

    Well?

(How did Pauley 2.0 look? Gives us a review)

Never was in Pauley 1.0, so I don't have a good frame of reference, but it was cool. Swanky, but not ostentatious. Docked points for football-style media seating. Credited points for everything else.
