I'd bet he doesn't last a month before he totally breaks down.

I don't doubt he'll stagger to the finish line and take multiple trips to the DL, but he'll get five wins this season...somehow, someway.

If he does, that will be 5 wins more that John Smoltz and Tom Glavine combined

Spnited will get pissed about the Mets.
Bubbler will get pissed about the Brewers.

We'll both laugh at dumb ass Cubs fans.

Spnited will not criticize Johan Santana -- the best pitcher on the freaking planet -- all season.
He will, however, villify Francisco Rodriguez every time he blows a save.

    - Second the fact the Cubs will not win the World Series. Neither will the White Sox, Cardinals, or Brewers, for that matter.
    - The Dodgers will finish a distant second in the NL West to some upstart surprise team, as the pitching falters early and often. A couple of No. 3-caliber guys (Kershaw and Billingsley are still kids) at the top of the rotation, and a bunch of flotsam otherwise. Manny will start dogging it in June. If the talks fall apart and they do not sign him, they're a third-place team.
    - Tampa Bay is like Cleveland two years ago. Lightning in a bottle. Yes, I know . . .they return everyone. Can't duplicate magic. The Indians were supposed to build on 2007 last year, too.
    - The Angels will win their division, and get swept by the Red Sox in the playoffs.
    - The Mets will not choke, because it will be a tight race with Philly the entire season.
    - Beset by injuries to their new pitchers, the Yankees will be an entertaining disaster, winning and losing a lot of 6-5 games. They'll get the wild card, but no further. Which is, of course, a disaster for them.
    - The Royals will finish in fourth. The Pirates will finish in seventh. Fans of these teams will scream about a salary cap and payroll fairness.
    - Barry Bonds' agent continues to remind everyone that his client is available.
    - Alex Rodriguez will go 35 HRs, 110 RBIs. And will still not get the love from fans he thinks he deserves.
    - ESPN announcers will spend half their airtime during games at the Mets and Yankees' new stadiums talking about these "wonderful" "state of the art" "great place to see a ballgame" "lot of history here" "beautiful new ballpark." People here will wonder - in vain - when ESPN will give more indepth coverage to the Yankee ticket snafus.

Promises to be one of the more enjoyable aspects of the 2009 season.

Tim Tebow Jesus, in some way, shape or form, will be praised by baseball announcers when he throws out the first pitch in an upcoming Marlins or Rays game, and we'll all simultaneously throw up in our mouths.

You can when your manager isn't Eric Wedge...and your closer isn't Joe Borowski.

    Wait a minute...

The Twins new ballpark will unexpectedly burn to the ground and Zeke will find and kill a hobo in the backlash.

Most of these are said tongue in cheek and should not be taken seriously.*

-- The Yankees will not win No. 27.

-- One of the Yankees' newly acquired pitchers will get hurt and turn into Carl Pavano.*

-- People will hate the Rangers' new batting helmets (oh wait, they already do).

-- Ken Griffey Jr. will last two months at DH (if the Ms put him there) before deciding to play center field again.

-- The Reds and Royals will combine for over 170 wins.

-- As long as they stay healthy, the Rays will win the East. The Red Sox will fall to fourth behind Tampa Bay, New York and Toronto.

-- The Yankees will win the wild card and will play in the ALCS.

-- Roger Clemens will try yet another comeback in June.*

-- My fantasy team will still suck (just ask my owner, Central-KY-Kid).*
